CIA Gala Honors Three Industry Greats
The Culinary Institute of America honored three culinary greats—Ferran Adrià, Grant Achatz '94, and John Profaci, Sr.—at the 2009 Augie™ Awards on March 26 during a black tie gala at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City. Veteran actress Ruta Lee was the emcee for the evening. Proceeds from the event will benefit the education of future culinarians through the CIA’s scholarship endowment.<br><br> Dinner with the Masters 2009
On February 21, more than 100 people feasted at Ristorante Caterina de' Medici on succulent dishes prepared by the CIA's master chefs at the annual Dinner with the Masters. The attendees included Trustees Burt Hobson and Barry Colman; several Fellows and their guests, including Joel Spiro, Ed Shapoff, Neal Nemerov, Eleanor Lenich, Philip Jones, Joseph DeFronzo, and George Chookazian; and VIP guests Barbara Wile Schwarz and Joyce Saxon. 500 Celebrate at Pier 60 in NYC
The Thirteenth Annual Gala and Second AugieTM Awards (Lead Diamond Sponsor Dunkin’ Brands) was a tremendous success with over 500 in attendance at Abigail Kirsch’s Pier 60 in New York City. With emcee television personality Katie Lee Joel (wife of singer Billy Joel), the CIA presented Leadership Awards to honor professionals who have made transforming contributions to the industry. Food and Wine Celebration Culminates in Third Annual Vintners Hall of Fame
The Culinary Institute of America's Celebration of California Food & Wine on March 14, 2009 at the college's Greystone campus in the heart of the Napa Valley presented a broad vista of the history of the California wine industry and culminated in the Third Annual Vintners Hall of Fame Induction Dinner. |
