Individual Giving
As a not-for-profit educational institution, the CIA relies on gifts from individuals, including alumni, parents, friends, and food enthusiasts, to maintain its excellence as the world’s premier culinary college. Gifts to the CIA provide vital resources for scholarships, faculty development, buildings and grounds, equipment, endowment, academic programs, and student life.
Endowed Funds
Unrestricted gifts are critical to the institution’s health and its ability to serve its students. Gifts may be of any size can be made to the CIA’s general endowment. Our endowment impacts all aspects of college operations, including support for our programs, the development of competitive student recruitment strategies, and the number and size of scholarships we can award our students.
Named Endowed Funds
Named endowed funds exist in perpetuity and can be established with a gift of $50,000. Your gift is payable over five years.
Scholarships
Each year, The Institute awards more than $1.6 million to approximately 500 students who demonstrate need and meet the CIA’s high academic standards. Your contribution goes a long way toward increasing the level of support we can provide, reducing our students’ overall debt, and allowing them to start their new careers on more sure financial footing.
Gifts in Memory/Honor
Many people choose to make gifts in honor or memory of a special individual, alumnus, teacher, or friend. Your gift pays tribute to a fine individual and also enhances The Institute’s ability to provide the best quality culinary education possible for our students through innovative programs and increased scholarship support. Gifts in memory and honor of individuals can be made to the Annual Fund or to specific initiatives or scholarships.
Pledges
You can pledge your support to the CIA today, and complete payment at a later date. Major gift pledges may be paid over a five year period.
