It is essential that The Culinary Institute of America is engaged in promoting its identity as a not-for-profit, fully accredited, degree-granting college, emphasizing its teaching, research, and service mission; while partnering, when appropriate, with all levels of government, the non-profit community, and private enterprise.
The Advancement and Business Development office serves as a catalyst for all CIA departments and campuses to create opportunities to partner with foundations. We collaborate with foundations that align with our thought leadership platforms of professional excellence and innovation, world cuisines and cultures, sustainability and food ethics, and health and wellness, to establish mutually beneficial goals that support the CIA.
Additionally, the CIA is recognized as an engine for regional economic development. Working with local, state, and federal government entities helps to foster economic stewardship involving stakeholders from all sectors—legislators, national and state agencies, and industry leaders.
It is crucial that the CIA and the food and beverage industry use their collective voice to convey to policymakers and the public the benefits of supporting and strengthening the college’s educational programs, facilities, and student financial assistance program.
CIA staff members are available to assist foundation staff with information about CIA faculty, programs, and initiatives. Please contact Mia DeYoung, Manager - Institutional Funding and Proposal Development if you would like general information, assistance with background on a specific proposal, or site visit arrangements.
