The CIA held its annual Leadership Awards event at the the American Museum of Natural History in New York City on April 28. Celebrity chefs from around the country joined CEOs, culinary entrepreneurs, and food industry leaders who were part of a capacity crowd of more than 600.

This year we celebrated four of New York City's most respected culinary innovators, creators, and inspirations who achieved so many firsts in our industry. From their genius has sprung generations of chefs, restaurateurs, and savvy food writers. We were delighted to honor these extraordinary visionaries.

Albert Kumin: former CIA faculty member, James Beard Award-winning executive pastry chef for the White House, the Four Seasons, and Windows on the World

Sirio Maccioni: James Beard Lifetime Achievement Award and Restaurant of the Year winner, founder/owner of Le Cirque and the Maccioni family restaurant empire

Mimi Sheraton: James Beard Award-winning journalist, restaurant critic, consultant, lecturer, and cookbook author

Andre Soltner: former chef/owner of Lutèce
