HISD CIAThe Culinary Institute of America and the Houston Independent School District (HISD) in Texas have created an educational partnership in which students can earn their first semester of CIA college credit during their junior and senior years of high school.

Alumnus Gives Commencement Address
CIA AlumnusCIA alumnus Erik Battes '04 returned to Hyde Park to give the commencement address to the graduating class of November 25, 2014. Erik Battes is corporate executive chef for Philadelphia, PA-based Starr Restaurants, one of the largest multi-concept restaurant companies in the United States.

Alumni Team Up To Assist Students With A Live Broadcast
CIA AlumniBruce Squib '78 and David Ivey-Soto '90 teamed up to assist students from the Berks Career and Technology Center, Kutztown University Students and the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) to broadcast a live cooking demonstration from the BCTC Leesport campus on Nov. 18.The demonstration was streamed live via the Internet to schools in Pennsylvania, Ohio and New Jersey.
